The A400M Transport Aircraft Project is carried out under a contract signed between OCCAR and Airbus Military Sociedad Limitada (AMSL) on behalf of the program’s participating nations: Germany, Belgium–Luxembourg, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Türkiye. On behalf of Türkiye, the project is managed by the Secretariat of Defence Industries (SSB) and A400M aircraft have been delivered to the Turkish Air Force Command. The A400M provides strategic and tactical airlift capability, enabling the transport of helicopters, various armored vehicles, and a wide range of cargo. It is equipped with tactical features such as the ability to operate from unprepared runways, conduct airdrops of cargo and personnel, and perform low-level flight. In addition to its military missions, the A400M has played a vital role in humanitarian operations. Turkish Air Force A400M aircraft have transported search and rescue teams, relief supplies, and carried out medical evacuations quickly and safely under both day and night conditions during natural disasters such as earthquakes.
