The project targets the deployment of the Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Mode 5 system, indigenously developed in compliance with NATO standards, to Turkish Naval Forces Command and Turkish Air Force Command platforms. Designed to replace the retired NATO IFF Mode 4 system, the Mode 5 version offers encrypted communications with enhanced security measures, thereby ensuring situational awareness among friendly units on the battlefield and preventing fratricide.
