The SIPER Project aims to develop an effective long-range air defence system capable of countering long range and high-altitude targets (fighter aircraft, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and helicopters), under a contract signed between the Secretariat of Defence Industries (SSB) and the ASELSAN–ROKETSAN–TUBITAK SAGE partnership.
